Tibet Digital Library

Tibet is a country in Central Asia, at the top of the the Himalayas. The average elevation is over 12,000 feet, and it is has a dry, cold climate. Tibet is, depending on one's political views, either an independent country occupied by the People's Republic of China or a province of China, the TAR (Tibetan Autonomous Region).

This site's creators, William and Anne Crosby-Lundin, have travelled throughout China, Tibet, and the surrounding region. Our intention in making this site is to increase awareness about Tibet.

The site is divided into general categories:

  1. Politics and History - An overview of Tibetan politics and history.
  2. Sights and Sounds (multimedia content)
  3. Culture - This section contains information about Tibetan art, religion and Tibetan folktales.
  4. Other Resources - Provides a thorough list of both on and offline resources about Tibet, including movies, books and music.
  5. Discussion - This is a bulletin board for discussing issues about Tibet. Anyone may post to it.
  6. Search/Site Map - The Site Map shows all major categories and their subcategories. Two search engines (ht://Dig and Swish) are available for searching the site.
  7. Contact - Information about the authors.
  8. Credits - Gives credit to the people who allowed us to use some of their information or content.
